Chapter 1 of each is free, no sign-up

A love triangle is a romance where two people want the same heroine and she has to choose between them. The best ones make the rival a real option, charming and sincere rather than a straw man, so the choice costs something and the man she picks has to earn it.

What makes love triangle work

A rival changes everything. The love interest stops being the only door in the room, and suddenly his patience, his jealousy and his restraint are all on display, because someone else is offering her a different life. Readers love the trope when the rival is genuinely tempting and the heroine stays in control of the decision. Nobody is two-timed and nobody is a prize; she weighs two real offers and picks the one that is worth it.

Questions readers actually ask

Where can I read love triangle stories online for free?

Love Triangle stories on Almost Kiss include The Dragon's Undoing and The Princess and Her Impossible Knight. Chapter 1 of every story is free to read online with no sign-up, and a free account opens chapters 2–3 of two stories a month. In each story you make the choices, and the story remembers them.

Is a love triangle the same as cheating?

No. In a love triangle two people pursue the heroine before she has committed to either of them. Cheating means betraying someone you are already with, which is a different story entirely.

Does a love triangle always end with one couple?

In most romance, yes. The heroine chooses one love interest and the story ends with that couple together. Stories where she keeps both are usually called 'why choose' or reverse harem instead.
