Terms of Service

Almost Kiss is run by iListen Pty Ltd (ACN 670 895 824), an Australian company. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean iListen Pty Ltd, and “you” means you, the person reading.
By making an account or subscribing, you agree to what’s written here. If you don’t agree with some part of it, don’t use the service — and tell us why, because we’d rather know.
You have to be 18
Almost Kiss is for adults. You need to be 18 or older to make an account. We ask for your month and year of birth when you join, and we may ask for a stronger age check before showing explicit content. Every character in every story is fictional and an adult.
Your account
One account, one person. Keep your password to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time from Settings in the app, which deletes your reading data with it. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
What you get
- Free: Chapter 1 of two stories every 30 days, and you can re-read those two whenever you like.
- Sweet: every chapter of every story in the library, for as long as your subscription is active.
We add stories regularly and we may occasionally remove one — if a story you were part-way through is removed, tell us and we’ll sort it out.
Paying
Subscriptions are billed in US dollars, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until you cancel. Prices are shown before you pay.
Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record — Stripe is the seller for the transaction and handles the tax. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us; we never see or store them.
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep reading until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. We don’t pro-rate part-periods.
If we raise the price, existing subscribers keep the price they signed up at for as long as the subscription stays active. If that ever changes we’ll tell you before it does, not after.
Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, or the equivalent consumer law where you live. Those rights can’t be signed away and we’re not trying to. If something is broken, misdescribed or not what you paid for, you may be entitled to a refund — email us.
How the stories are made
Stories on Almost Kiss are written with the help of AI and edited by a human author, who chooses what gets published. Some lines you see are generated live in response to what you type — that’s the part of the story that remembers you.
No story, image or voice is based on a real person. Voices are designed, never cloned. If you believe something on Almost Kiss resembles a real person or infringes your rights, email us and we’ll act on it promptly.
What you type
Stories invite you to answer in your own words. Those words are stored against your reading so the story can use them later, and they’re checked automatically for a small set of things we won’t write into a story — sexual content involving minors, real-world harm, and similar. Flagged text is kept separately for safety review and never becomes part of the story.
Don’t use the free-text box to send anything illegal, anything about a real identifiable person, or anything designed to push the service into producing content it shouldn’t. We may suspend an account that does.
You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to store it and use it to run the service for you — to write the story back to you, essentially. We don’t publish it, and we don’t train models on it.
What you can’t do with the stories
The stories, covers, voices and everything else on Almost Kiss belong to us or to the authors we work with. Read them, screenshot a line you loved, send it to a friend. Don’t republish whole chapters, scrape the catalogue, or feed it into another product.
Ending it
You can stop at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is being used fraudulently, or is putting other readers at risk — and if we do, we’ll tell you why and refund anything you’ve paid for and can no longer use.
The boring but necessary part
Almost Kiss is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it up and correct, but we don’t promise it will never be unavailable or never contain a mistake. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the twelve months before the problem. Again — this doesn’t touch the consumer guarantees you have by law.
Changes, and where this is governed
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
