How does an Almost Kiss story work?
You read it a beat at a time, like a romance novel built for your phone. At key moments you choose what to do or say, or answer in your own words, and later chapters reflect what you chose.
Is Almost Kiss free?
Yes, to start. Chapter 1 of every story is free in your browser with no sign-up, and a free account opens chapters 2–3 of two stories a month. You can also read every story FREE for 7 days with the monthly plan's free trial.
How much does Almost Kiss cost?
One story costs $2.99 once and is yours to keep. Every story, with Unlimited, costs $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year. The monthly plan starts with a 7-day FREE trial. Prices include tax.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every story is FREE for 7 days on the monthly plan, on the website and in the Android app. You add a card to start, you’re not charged until the 7 days are up, and you can cancel anytime in Settings before then. One free trial per account.
Are there coins, gems, keys or timers?
No. There’s no currency to buy, no energy that runs out and no waiting for chapters to refill. You read as much as your plan includes, whenever you like.
Are there ads?
No. Almost Kiss has no ads at all, on the free chapters or the paid ones.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Almost Kiss works in any phone or computer browser. There’s also an Android app on Google Play, and the iPhone app is coming soon.
Do I need an account?
Not to start. In your browser you can read Chapter 1 of any story without signing up. A free account saves your place and opens more chapters.
How does the story remember me?
Almost Kiss keeps track of your name, your choices and the things you say, and later chapters call back to them, like a nickname you let slip or something you admitted early on.
Who writes the stories?
Each story is planned, edited and approved by a human author and written with the help of AI.
What kinds of stories are there?
Enemies to lovers, fated mates, vampire kings, Regency rakes, mafia heirs, cowboys, dragons, he-falls-first and more, across romantasy, paranormal, dark romance, historical and rom-com. Browse by trope.
Will there be a steamier version?
Yes. A steamier edition of the same stories is on the way, where the most intimate moments stay on the page. We’ll tell you the day it lands.
How long is a story?
From a one-sitting short of about 15 minutes to a novella of two hours or more. Every story is complete.
Is it an AI chatbot?
No. Almost Kiss is a library of finished, authored stories. AI helps the story respond to your choices and your words, but there’s no open-ended chat and no character pretending to be real.
How do I cancel?
Tap Cancel subscription in Settings. On Android you can also cancel in the Play Store. Cancel during your free week and you won’t be charged. A story you unlocked for $2.99 stays yours even if you cancel.
