What is the difference between Choices and Almost Kiss?
The difference between Choices and Almost Kiss is the key. On Choices every chapter costs a key, and Pixelberry’s own FAQ describes two keys at a time with one refilling every three hours, so a binge becomes a wait. Premium choices and outfits cost diamonds. Almost Kiss has no keys, no diamonds and no ads: you read as far as your plan goes and every choice is included.
Choices is a game, with character art, outfits and a cast across genres. Almost Kiss is romance only, read a beat at a time, where you are the heroine and you can answer in your own words.
What is happening to Choices in 2026?
Pixelberry announced in April 2026 that it had said goodbye to several members of its team, that its writing team had changed, and that new books would be shorter, around five to eight chapters. In May 2026 it said traditional Choices books would continue through August while it moves to a new platform it calls RUN. Nexon sold Pixelberry to the generative-AI game company Series Entertainment in July 2024.
If you are a Choices reader wondering what comes next, Almost Kiss is a different model rather than a copy: complete love stories with no currency, written to an ending before they are published.
Do Choices books end? Do Almost Kiss stories?
Choices books are studio-written and end, often across several "books" in a series. Every Almost Kiss story is also complete, from a 15-minute short to a two-hour novella, and is finished before it goes live, so you can read to the end in one sitting if you want to.
Which is cheaper, Choices or Almost Kiss?
Choices is free if you wait for keys and skip diamond choices; VIP is $14.99 on the US App Store. On Almost Kiss Chapter 1 of every story is free, one story is $2.99 once, and every story is $9.99 a month, with nothing inside a story that costs extra.
